Regina Stork, Manager at True Colors childcare has been with the organisation for 17 years and is delighted with this latest addition to the range of international childcare her facilities are now able to offer: “We currently work with vertical groups of mixed ages. And now, in order to be able to offer places to more babies from our waiting list, we’ve decided to change 3 vertical groups into 3 horizontal groups: 2 for babies and one for toddlers. We’re also adding a preschool group for children from 2½ to 4 years of age, from 08:30 – 12:30. We will still be keeping 2 vertical groups.”
Keyla Cornes-Maduro will be responsible for the new preschool group and looks forward to offering this new and unique form of preschool childcare. “We’re the first childcare facility in the Netherlands to offer this form of preschool in English and Dutch linked to the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP),” she explains. “We work closely with the International School Delft and our staff train together, to ensure our children make the smooth transition from preschool to ‘big school’ on the road to becoming citizens of the world.”
Regina: “At True Colors we want to create a warm and safe environment in which our children feel safe to explore the world around them as they grow into confident and socially minded citizens of the world. The one teacher/one language approach plays an important role in achieving this as the children are helped to become completely bi-lingual.” Playing outside is also a key part of life for the children at True Colors, Keyla explains: “The best part about our approach to childcare is that the children get to spend so much time outdoors, exploring the world around them and discovering how to make use of the objects they find.”
Waiting lists for childcare can be long so, to avoid disappointment, it’s important to register your child as soon as possible. This also applies to the new preschool that True Colors is opening in March 2020.
“At True Colors, we have built a safe haven for children and their parents. We help them feel at home in the Netherlands and in the world.”
